DHCourier Delivery Terms and Conditions

These Delivery Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline the responsibilities, limitations, and conditions applicable to the courier and delivery services provided by DHCourier (“we,” “our,” “us”). By using DHCourier’s services, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.
1. Scope of Services
DHCourier provides delivery and courier services, including collection, transport, and delivery of parcels, documents, and goods. The services are available to both individual and business clients.
a. Service Availability
DHCourier reserves the right to limit the availability of services to certain geographic areas or restrict service offerings based on item size, weight, and type.
b. Service Modifications
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services without prior notice, except where advance notification is required by law.
2. Delivery Requests and Booking
a. Service Booking
Customers can place delivery orders via our website, email, or customer service line. When booking a service, you agree to provide accurate details, including:
Delivery and pick-up addresses
Contact information for both sender and recipient
Item description, including weight, dimensions, and value
b. Order Confirmation
Upon booking, you will receive an order confirmation via email. Confirmation of an order does not guarantee acceptance of your delivery request, which may be subject to additional conditions or requirements.
c. Subcontracting
DH Courier LTD reserves the right to subcontract any part of its services, including but not limited to the transportation and delivery of goods, to third-party contractors or subcontractors.
By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that:
Subcontracted Work: DH Courier LTD may assign your shipment to a trusted subcontractor for fulfillment. This may include other courier companies, independent contractors, or logistics providers.
Responsibility: While work may be subcontracted, DH Courier LTD remains responsible for ensuring that all subcontractors adhere to our standards of service.
Liability: In cases where subcontractors handle your goods, DH Courier LTD will take all reasonable steps to ensure your items are managed with care. However, liability for loss or damage will remain subject to our general terms and conditions.
Notice: Customers will not necessarily be notified in advance of subcontracting arrangements, as these are made to optimize operational efficiency and ensure timely delivery of services.
3. Shipping Restrictions
Certain items are prohibited from being transported through DHCourier’s services. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
Hazardous or dangerous goods
Flammable, explosive, or toxic materials
Illegal items, including counterfeit or stolen goods
Perishable goods (unless agreed upon in advance)
Valuable items such as cash, precious metals, and jewelry exceeding the specified value limit
a. Prohibited and Restricted Items
It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that items do not violate DHCourier’s restrictions. DHCourier reserves the right to inspect, return, or dispose of prohibited items at the sender’s expense.
4. Delivery Timelines and Delays
a. Estimated Delivery Times
Estimated delivery times are provided at the time of booking but are not guaranteed. DHCourier will make reasonable efforts to deliver items within the estimated timeframe; however, delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances, including:
Weather conditions
Traffic disruptions
Public holidays
Major events, such as natural disasters or emergencies
b. Delayed Delivery
In case of a delay, we will notify you as soon as possible and provide an updated delivery timeline. DHCourier will not be held liable for any indirect or consequential losses resulting from delays outside of our control.
5. Delivery and Acceptance of Goods
a. Delivery Attempts
DHCourier will make up to one delivery attempt. If the recipient is unavailable, we will attempt to contact them and arrange for re-delivery or an alternative solution. Additional delivery attempts may be subject to additional fees. As well as additional fees for any extra loaded miles undertaken as a result of being unable to unload.
b. Signature and Proof of Delivery
Unless otherwise specified, DHCourier will obtain a signature upon delivery as proof of receipt. In cases where contactless delivery is requested, you agree to accept responsibility for any loss or damage resulting from delivery without a signature.
c. Refusal of Delivery
If the recipient refuses delivery, the item will be returned to the sender at the sender’s expense, unless otherwise agreed.
6. Packaging and Labeling Requirements
It is the sender’s responsibility to ensure that items are properly packaged and labeled to withstand handling and transport.
a. Packaging Standards
All packages must be securely sealed and clearly labeled with correct addresses, contact information, and any handling instructions. Improperly packaged items may be refused or may incur additional fees for repackaging.
b. Liability for Damage Due to Insufficient Packaging
DHCourier is not liable for damage to items caused by insufficient, improper, or defective packaging. The sender assumes responsibility for ensuring items are appropriately protected for transit.
7. Fees, Payments, and Additional Charges
a. Pricing
Service rates, fees, and applicable taxes are specified at the time of booking and are subject to change. Final charges are based on the actual weight, dimensions, and type of item, and may differ from the estimated rate provided at booking.
b. Additional Charges
Additional fees may apply in certain circumstances, including:
Excess weight or oversized packages
Additional delivery attempts or redelivery fees
Waiting time fees charged at £25 an hour for vehicles ranging from a small van to a 5m Luton (any type) - the first 30 minutes at collection and delivery sites is free after this waiting time is able to be charged - for haulier vehicles £40 an hour is charged after the first 30 minutes at collection/delivery.
Fees for prohibited or improperly packaged items
DHCourier reserves the right to adjust fees based on the actual specifications of the shipment.
8. Cancellation
a. Cancellations Made More Than 24 Hours Before Collection:
No cancellation fee will apply, and you will receive a full refund within 30 days.
b. Cancellations Within 24 Hours of Proposed Collection:
A cancellation fee of 50% of the total job cost will be charged. This helps us cover the resources and scheduling adjustments already committed to your booking.
c. No-Show or Last-Minute Cancellations (After Collection Arrival):
In the event of a no-show or cancellation after our courier has arrived for the collection, the full job total will be charged.
9. Liability and Insurance
a. Limited Liability
DHCourier’s liability for loss, damage, or delay of items is limited to the lesser of the declared value or the standard maximum liability as specified at booking. DHCourier is not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, income, or other damages due to delays or failures in delivery.
b. Optional Insurance
Additional insurance coverage may be available upon request for high-value items, subject to additional charges. Contact customer service to arrange optional insurance for your delivery.
10. Claims and Complaints
a. Filing a Claim
If your delivery is lost, damaged, or delayed, you may submit a claim within [specify timeframe, e.g., 30 days] of the scheduled delivery date. Claims can be submitted via our website or by contacting customer service.
b. Required Documentation

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
