When an urgent collection makes sense

For businesses whose work is held up until a part, tool or delivery arrives.

Production has stopped

A supplier has the replacement part, but it needs collecting and bringing directly to your site.

Engineers are waiting

Tools, materials or equipment need to reach a team working to a scheduled site window.

The normal delivery cannot wait

Stock is available, but the planned transport will not arrive when the business needs it.

How an urgent collection is arranged

Vans and Lutons cover most urgent loads and are priced online. Anything that needs a lorry is quoted by our team. Long or awkward items load from the side of a curtain-sided vehicle, and a tail lift covers a delivery point with no forklift.

  1. Send the journey and load details Provide the collection and delivery postcodes, what is being moved, its size and weight, and when it needs to arrive.
  2. Confirm the vehicle and price DH Courier confirms the appropriate vehicle, the collection arrangement and the price before anything is booked.
  3. Collection and delivery The load is collected and taken to the delivery destination.

A photograph of the load and a note on the access at each end help our team confirm the right vehicle first time.

The problem

A pressure line failed on a live site late in the morning and the plant it fed had to be shut down. The fabricator had a replacement section finished by early afternoon, but their own vehicles were out and the pallet network they normally use could not collect until the following day. Every hour the site stayed down was costing the end customer money.

What happened

Collected at half past two and delivered to site the same afternoon. The curtain side meant the cradle could be lifted straight off from the side rather than dragged the length of a box body, and the tail lift dealt with the fact there was no forklift on site. The line was back in service that evening.
